Written by Garth

Why Your Garage Doors Needs to Be Service - There are a great many problems that can develop with your garage door. The trick is to fix them before they become more serious problems. Today we will go over the usual causes of typical garage door malfunctions and why you should have them repaired quickly. Sure, there are some garage door problems that might not need immediate attention, but that is common sense. These are common causes of garage door malfunctions that a shady garage door repair company might try to scam you into believing is something more expensive to fix. This is a common scam that is also popular with car mechanics. Don’t worry, though as The Garage Door Club will always be honest with our customers.

Garage Door Won’t Close, Why?

As simple as this sounds, it is considerably more complicated than it used to be. It still might be simpler than our top reason, but it is always good to check. The fact is that garage doors often come with the new safety features and precautions. While this is good because it prevents injury and property damage, it does have a downside. Malfunctioning photo eyes is a common problem that prevents the garage door from closing. The myth perpetuated by some other garage door service companies is that they always need to be replaced. Not only will they tell you that, but often they will fix the true problem without really replacing the part itself. All while charging you for new garage door photo eyes.
What are garage door photo eyes? Basically, it is a laser or sensor that makes sure there is nothing there when your garage door closes. The real problem? They are often misaligned or dirty. Call The Garage Door Club at (877) 225-9989 if you think you may have this problem. We will be happy to come out and re-calibrate your garage door photo eyes for a small fee, instead of a loan from your bank.

Broken Springs Broken Door - Broken Springs - The Garage Door Club

Does your garage door not seem to move or move far too much in one direction? You might have a broken garage  door spring. This can be disguised as broken or damaged garage door tracks. It is always better to call The Garage Door Club at (877) 225-9989 to be sure. Another reason to call us? You should never attempt to DIY garage door spring repair or replacement. Garage door springs have a dangerous task and they are dangerous when broken. They counteract the impact of gravity on your garage door. Fun fact, the lightest garage door owned by anyone is just under one hundred pounds. That’s not light by anyone’s standard.

Now The Garage Door Won’t Open!

Well, there are a few reasons this might happen. One of them is broken garage door springs. A more common reason is a problem with your garage door opener or garage door opener remote. Obviously, you can check the batteries in your garage door opener remote by yourself. However, if the problem seems to lie with the garage door opener, call The Garage Door Club. Or, if you have the correct information and a warranty, use it. Why spend the money if you don’t have too, right? Otherwise, we can definitely help you out. Sometimes an old garage door motor just needs to be replaced. It might just need a simple repair, too.
If the problem ends up being both or even just the remote, consider getting an app on your smartphone that allows you to use your phone as your garage door remote. This generally requires a newer garage door opener, but it is well worth it. You can even open your garage door from across the world for a friend to check on your house. If you have to get a new garage door opener, then consider getting on of the new screw drive garage door openers. That will also solve the problem of a noisy garage door. Have questions?
